Let me tell you a short story about myself. I worked for nineteen years in a bank and most of the time I was totally satisfied, faced a lot of challenges, worked hard and had a lot of fun. But I knew from a very early age that I wanted to do something with my hands. But what? No idea. Because I didn’t want to stay in my job until I retired, I chose something different. I left the bank, got re-educated, did lots of training and self-development and then got started. During this time, among other things, I took a massage course, learned about magnetization and I studied a range of other body-oriented subjects. I finally experienced what I’d known for years; this is what I want to do.
It is almost as if my hands lead a life of their own. I was very unsure of myself in the beginning. Was I doing it right? Did people enjoy it? But the more massages I gave, the better it went, and I noticed that I became better at feeling what people needed, where they were blocked and that people really did relax from the touch of my hands. That’s terrific! After an hour’s massage, when you see that someone’s entire face has changed, you sometimes see that they look rejuvenated like a baby, so soft and so vulnerable.
I’m truly grateful to be able to do this work; it can be very intimate or not, because I sometimes know nothing whatsoever about the people. It makes me happy that I can contribute something positive through my work. I’m glad that people leaving Koan Float feel better than when they arrived, that they possibly can put things more into perspective and are nicer people to be around in general. And if things ‘click’ and people open up to you, you can find yourself inside a strong energy force.
It’s difficult to explain more clearly. What happens, happens together, even though I’m doing the work. My mind becomes calmer and I actually get more energy than I put in. Together we enter a “different world”. In short: I love my job!
I can also use Thai Yoga Massage techniques during the Classical Relaxation Massage.
A few comments from people I’ve massaged: “I felt like I’d been on holiday for a week”; “Your hands become one with the rhythm of my body”. ”You’re not going to stop now, are you?” “This is exactly what I needed”.
