Classic Relaxation Hotstone Pregnancy Massage Rebalancing Shiatsu Thai Yoga
My name is Anke, I am originally from Germany and have been living in the Netherlands since 2003.
During my journeys in India I got in touch with yoga and meditation. As my urge to ‘look inside’ and to get to know my body and mind was very strong I started to practice yoga regularly and also went on long silent meditation retreats. The combination of practicing yoga and meditation gave me deep insights into the connection between body and mind.
In 2003 I took my first massage-course named ‘Rebalancing’. I was immediately fascinated by the ‘art of touch’ and felt that I could easily step into a ‘natural flow’ while massaging. I started feeling more ‘present’ and ‘grounded’ through performing this kind of massage-work and noticed that it had this same effect on the people I gave massages to. This inspired me to keep on following this path of discovering the body.
Since then I have taken on various courses and trainings in such traditions as Thai yoga massage and Zen shiatsu.
I soon found that each massage technique has a certain quality and strength of its own: the deep strokes from the Rebalancing; the intense stretches from Thai Yoga Massage or working with the meridians and pressure points of the Shiatsu.
I choose a technique that feels most appropriate for my client or integrate different techniques into one session to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment.
I have discovered that, for me, the most important quality is being attentive, caring and present with my client during the treatment: I have experienced myself how someone’s true presence can be healing. I will listen to my client attentively and try to truly see him/her and I will adjust my touch to my clients body/spirit so that my touch really touches him/her on a deeper level.
During the session I invite you to be in touch with your body and the inner world of your thoughts and emotions: to experience yourself consciously. This direct experience allows you to ‘relax with what is’, and find a new balance. You can then make room for looking at yourself and the world around your with more openness. These are important tools for a happy and balanced life and I would love to support you in reaching that balance.
I look forward to meeting you so that we can together discover what touches and nourishes you, and what you need right now to live a balanced life.
